The fabled island of Sumatra has always held a certain mystique. It is the worldís fifth largest island and largest ìleast-evangelizedî island on earth. Sumatra is e to 75 people groups, 52 of which are classified as ìunreachedî with the gospel. The island and its Muslim unreached peoples by and large have historically been bypassed in the wider sweep of mission history. There were significant turnings to the Lord among the Bataks and other animistic peoples, reaching back over 100 years ago, but until recently there has been little intentional effort to take the gospel message to the majority Muslim peoples. Let us pray for Godís rule and reign to become a reality among every people group on Sumatra.
